Work Experience

Work Experience forms a very important part of school life.  It offers every student an opportunity to develop an understanding of the world of work.  It introduces students to a wide range of job opportunities.

The aims of work experience are to:

  • provide students with an insight into the world of work
  • encourage an enthusiasm and willingness to enter employment
  • build and develop self-confidence in social and work situations
  • develop in students a greater degree of responsibility and independence
In the past the IBC has assisted in placing students but due to the increase in the volume of applicants the IBC is no longer able to provide this service.  However the vast majority of chambers have their own policies in placing students and some have affiliations to schools and colleges.  You are advised to speak to your schools career advisor about making contact with individual chambers rather than the IBC.

If you would like to register with the IBC to receive current job vacancies please download the Mailing List Subscription form (below) and return it to us.

We look forward to welcoming you into our profession.
