5 Pump Court Chambers requires a Junior Clerk to assist in a busy Clerks’ Room. Duties include assisting our 3 Designated Civil, Family and Criminal Clerks with diary management, agreeing fees, general clerking duties and assisting with our rapidly growing direct access workload.
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the following:
- good spoken and written communication skills
- good organisational and time-management skills
- confidence and a professional manner
- tact and respect for confidential information
- the ability to work well in a team
- willingness to work long hours when necessary
- the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
The applicant should have a minimum of 5 high grade GCSE’s (including Maths and English) and at least basic IT skills such as Word, Outlook, and Excel etc. A Levels and other relevant qualifications up to and including degree level will be an advantage, particularly if the applicant is interested in a long term career in clerking and wants to gain relevant work experience in a busy general common law set focusing on its core areas of Civil, Family & Crime.
Salary depending on experience (plus pension and season ticket loan after probationary period)
Core Hours 9.00 A.M to 6.00 P.M
